J&S Commercial Services is a small family business owed and operated by Steve Schafer. He and his family reside in Wasilla, Alaska where they are close to the hunting, fishing and other outdoor pursuits they all enjoy.
As owner of J&S Commercial Services, Steve is the factory sales and service representative for Hofmann and Pro-Cut. He is also a General Contractor licensed in the state of Alaska to do building repairs, maintenance and improvements.
Hofmann is a division of Snap-On Equipment and produces vehicle alignment machines, tire changers, tire balancers and automotive lifts. Pro-Cut is a company that produces on-car brake lathes that resurface and match brake rotors.
Steve had a career as an automotive technician from 2001 until 2016. Starting out in high school pumping gas and changing tires. He gained experience through 8 years of Army service as a tracked and wheeled vehicle mechanic on active duty and in the National Guard. He spent 3 years at a Ford dealership in Minnesota and 8 more at an independent auto repair shop in Wasilla, Alaska. Throughout his career he gained military certifications, Ford factory certifications and attained ASE Master Technician Certification in 2010.
